Giving Local Business a Chance
Local Preference Policy
The Shoalhaven Business Chamber fully supports the policy implemented by the Shoalhaven City Council to give local business an advantage when dealing with Council.
The policy provides a net cash benefit of 5% to local businesses tendering for work with Council. In return these local businesses will re-invest back into the local economy, generating and protecting local jobs. Instigating this policy is crucial in our economic climate when protection of local business and local jobs is paramount especially when the Shoalhaven has unemployment higher than that of the State and National average.
The Shoalhaven Business Chamber has been working with Mayor Paul Green and Senior Staff of Council to see this policy implemented and now it is revised on an Annual basis to make sure it is working to benefit business throughout the Shoalhaven Area.
