INTEGRAL ENERGY SHOALHAVEN BUSINESS AWARDS
The Shoalhaven Business Chamber is proud to have been chosen by the Shoalhaven City Council to manage and oversee the 2010 Integral Energy Shoalhaven Business Awards. The awards have been run succesfully by the Council's economic development department for the past 25 years, and the Business Chamber put forth a proposal to take over the running of the awards which was accepted by Council in early 2010.This year promises to be something special with a record 99 entries from 56 different local business. 33 of these entries were from areas outside of Nowra making this a true "Shoalhaven" event. The awards will be on Friday the 24th of September and tickets are selling fast.
This is another great achievement of the Shoalhaven Business Chamber and it rewards locals and businesses who are excelling in their chosen field. The Chamber would like to take this opportunity to wish all the entrants the very best.

SHOALHAVEN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
The Management Committee has worked to focus the Chamber on core business development issues. The SBC Top Ten Priorities were formulated and are being actively implemented.
ENGAGEMENT WITH SHOALHAVEN CITY COUNCIL
The Chamber has strong engagement with SCC; fortnightly meetings are held with the Mayor actioning items from the Top Ten list.
ILLAWARRA BUSINESS CHAMBER ALLIANCE
The formulated alliance with Illawarra Business Chamber has been heralded by the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry as a model for all other Chambers in the country. REPUTATION OF SBC BUSINESS APPROACH
SBC focussed business approach has gained the respect of Council staff and Councillors. The profile of the Chamber is such that regional government and consultative bodies approach SBC for advice and to partner groups in planning and development. SBC Management Committee is engaged in discussion on master planing issues such as transport, employment and education.
SOUTHERN AREA CHAMBER
The ongoing development and strength of the Southern Area Chamber is reaping rewards in the Milton Ulladulla area through the united approach of businesses, lobbying developers and council on issues in this region, which impact on all businesses and the community.
NOWRA CBD PROMOTIONS COMMITTEE
This Committee is a sub committee of the SBC. The new & reinvigorated Nowra CBD Promotions Committee has taken a bold new direction in promoting the local business area, developing a long term marketing plan and business district improvement strategy to serve the CBD businesses. A key part of this strategy has been the publication of the highly acclaimed Nowra CBD Magazine which publicises the CBD and the Businesses within.

SHOALHAVEN ON SHOW
The regions largest Business and Tourism Expo, offering business to business and business to public promotion. This is an annual event coordinated by SBC. Shoalhaven on Show will take place on the 3rd and 4th of September at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, and will be launched by way of Business to Business Networking on Friday with the Expo taking place on Saturday. LOCAL BUSINESS FACTOR
Actively advocating a ‘local business’ component become part of the factoring process when assessing applications for tender with Shoalhaven City Council.
