TOP TEN PRIORITIES

The following priorities were identified by the Management Committee as having a serious impact on the creation of sustainable economic growth in the Shoalhaven.

The list is intended to assist in progress and direction, not to limit the issues addressed by the Chamber. 

Executive members attend regular meetings with the Mayor of the Shoalhaven and relevant council staff in order to assist in the implementation of actions on these matters.

 

1. Shoalhaven Riverfront Development - Provide an impressive gateway to the Shoalhaven

2. Nowra CBD Development - Help develop a plan to revitalise and promote the CBD

3. Ulladulla Revitalisation & Promotion - Promote Ulladulla not only as a tourism destination but a great place to live and do business

4. Integrated Transport Plan - Focusing on MR 92, usage of Bolong Road during emergencies and also the upgrades to the Princes Highway being the Berry By-pass, South Nowra and Gerringong

5. Parking facilities - Establishing a future plan to create parking facilities and signage that will cater for residents and tourists of the Shoalhaven

6. Coordinated Attack on Unemployment - Creating and promoting regional employment and training incentives and opportunities

7. Shoalhaven on Show - Creating the Regions biggest Business and Tourism Expo to promote what the Shoalhaven has to offer

8. Local Preference Policies - Constantly reviewing Shoalhaven City Council's Local Preference Policy to improve economic development and opportunities for businesses based in the Shoalhaven

9. Shaolin Temple - Shoalhaven Business Chamber fully supports the Shaolin Temple development and keeps up to date with any major issues regarding this project

10. Marina - Shoalhaven Business Chamber sees the Marina as an opportunity to attract "new" major industry to the Shoalhaven
