Five Minutes with Pete Russell, Integrity Real Estate, sponsor of the Excellence in Tourism & Hospitality award

Got a business in the tourism or hospitality industries? These are huge industries for the Shoalhaven; wouldn't it be great to win this award and show the world that you stand out from the crowd? The Excellence in Tourism & Hospitality award recognises providers of tourism, entertainment, commercial tourist accommodation and hospitality services. Businesses eligible to enter include providers or general tourism/recreational facilities and attractions, licenced clubs, hotels, motels, caravan and camping parks, B&B operators, conference and catering operators, restaurants and cafes. We chat with Pete Russell from Integrity Real Estate about his sponsorship of the Awards and why these are important industries for the Shoalhaven.

Why is Integrity Real Estate sponsoring the Shoalhaven Business Awards?

Integrity Real Estate is a proud member of the Shoalhaven Business Chamber and we're a local business; what better way to show our support for local businesses then to sponsor a category in the Awards?

Why are the Awards important for the Shoalhaven?

The Awards help to showcase both established and new businesses in the area to the greater community. They also show the Shoalhaven community how many great businesses we have.

What does excellence mean to you?

Always going above and beyond the "normal" levels of service and to strive for a greater client satisfaction.

Integrity Real Estate is the only Shoalhaven real estate group to have a Strata Management business, why is having a point of difference critical to success?

Consumers are becoming ever more savvy and time conscious in today's society. To offer a real estate business that can put all real estate services under the one roof benefits clients and customers, and helps our business to become even more capable of looking after all their needs.

How important are the tourism and hospitality industries to the Shoalhaven?

Given our proximity to Sydney and Canberra, as well as being one of the most beautiful regions in Australia, I would say tourism & hospitality are the most important industries for the economy and growth of the region. The tourism dollar is vital to the life blood of many businesses in our region.

Why are these industries important for Integrity Real Estate?

Population growth is vital to a thriving real estate environment. The Shoalhaven is a popular holiday destination for baby boomers, and many are likely to relocate to the Shoalhaven once they reach retirement. The investment they make into our region by relocating here is not only vital to the growth of the real estate industry, but to all businesses serving the community.

As the winner of the Business Leader award in 2015, what is the number one tip you can give to businesses entering the Awards this year?

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there.
