Last year Ross Thompson, Managing Director of WorkforceXS took out the Young Entrepreneur Award.

So we were delighted when Ross approached us to sponsor the Awards this year. We love being able to continue the story of successful local businesses and we particularly love going inside and finding out more about what life is like for the employees of our award winners.

In our latest inside story, we talk with Bree Darby, Recruitment Consultant at WorkforceXS South Coast.

What do you love about working for WorkforceXS South Coast?

I sincerely enjoy building relationships with employees and clients.

Describe WorkforceXS South Coast in three words?

Passionate. Dedicated. Successful.

What is life like at WorkforceXS South Coast?

No two days are ever the same in the office! Our days vary and are often busy and challenging, however we have a supportive and encouraging team, which creates a great working environment.

How do you think WorkforceXS South Coast differs from other labour hire and recruitment organisations?

We have built a strong rapport with our employees. This has created a level of trust and a balance of working together as a team.

Our Awards theme this year is cultivate, which is all about fostering growth. How does WorkforceXS foster the growth of its employees?

We have ongoing training opportunities, which is always encouraging. Learning new tools or having training opportunities enables growth not only for the team and the business, but also provides a platform to bring new ideas to your role.

What do you love about attending the Business Awards?

I love the atmosphere, being able to find out more about local businesses and the networking opportunities. It’s also nice to dress up for the occasion and have a great night.

WorkforceXS South Coast has also won an Award, when director Ross Thompson took out Young Entrepreneur last year, what does it feel like to work for an Award-winning business?

It’s a great feeling to work for a business that has brought employment opportunities to the Wollongong and local areas. Being recognised for the hard work is very rewarding for the team.

WorkforceXS South Coast is sponsoring the Excellence in Production Award, which encompasses building, construction, primary production and manufacturing. What are some of the exciting things that WorkforceXS is currently doing to support these industries?

Currently we are working with Habitat Personnel to boost indigenous employment levels within our local area. The MOU for our ‘Hands Up‘ initiative was signed earlier this year and WorkforceXS has set a business target to generate 15% indigenous workforce participation across all construction projects across the South Coast.

Tell us, what is Ross like as a boss??

Ross is very passionate and dedicated and is always looking for ways to improve the business. He gets involved with the day to day recruitment; always great to have a boss who gets involved with the team.

Thank you so much Bree for taking the time to share with us what life is like at the award winning WorforceXS South Coast.

And thank you to WorkforceXS South Coast for sponsoring the Excellence in Production Award.
