Are you a young and dynamic employee who is always seeking opportunities for growth or career advancement? Do you inspire, empower or mobilise others through the role you play in your organisation?
Our Young Business Executive Award is for employees within a business who consider themselves to be an inspiring young person who is focused on career success.
But I don’t wear a suit to work and I’m not an ‘executive’, is this category for me?
Yes! You don’t have to be in a traditional ‘executive’ type role, that is, have the word executive in your title, or wear a suit to work.
Your work attire might consist of a chef’s uniform, high vis and a hard hat, or shorts and Blundstones, but that doesn’t mean you’re not a suitable candidate for this Award.
Your role should be one that requires leadership, however don’t confuse leadership with management. You don’t need to have direct reports to be a leader. If your role requires leadership qualities and you’ve had influence over the success of your organisation, or in the community, then you should consider applying.
Equally, if you are an employer or business owner, and you have someone in your business who could be our next Young Business Executive, we encourage you to nominate them (with their permission and involvement, of course).
