The Nowra Domestic Violence Committee is immensely grateful for the great encouragement and support from SBC members since our presentation at the September Business After-dark function.
A wonderful ongoing legacy of that night will be the very useful website donated & created by Webics. www.saynotodomesticviolenceshoalhaven.com This is a valuable community resource of relevant & local information for DV victims, families, workers and community members confronted by this unacceptable societal problem.
Many other individual members gave their contact details as an expression of their interest in helping the campaign.
After the website, a Face book page was created. Within a week our F/b reach got out to 1,200 Likes. We continue to post stories and pics of community interest.

We then completed our Crowd funding web page. To do this we had a fabulous 2 minute video produced with the support of local film maker Christopher Collins from Flickapolitan. Its called ‘The Other Side of Paradise’. Please take the time to have a look.

We launched the website & the video, again with much enthusiasm and encouragement. Sample signs were created, bumper stickers, t shirts ordered.
The Mayor & Council gave considerable in-kind support to the ‘Signs’ going ahead.
So many people have contributed to all these stages. But after all this goodwill, the support has not translated in the form of Pledges to the Crowd funding project.
Our goal was to raise $9350.00. As is typical with crowd funding projects, if we do not reach the goal, the pledges will lapse & the ‘Signs’ project as it stands will not go ahead in Nov-Dec.
This letter is a PROMPT. Please go to our web page and press PLEDGE, this will open the Crowd funding platform and you can take it from there. Business owners who pledge $500 or more will have their business/corporate logo included on the website and signs and banners that are A3 size or larger.
It is obviously our hope that this campaign will have significant impact on raising community awareness and contributing to a shift in societal attitudes. There are many good people working in our community with families to keep them safe. Your support of the Say NO to Domestic Violence campaign will also be a huge morale boost to them.
